Helena Kallenbäck

Helena Kallenbäck (born November 26, 1944, in Risinge, Sweden) is a Swedish actress active in theatre, film, and television. She trained at the Malmö Theatre Academy from 1966 to 1969 and made her stage debut at Helsingborg City Theatre in The Maids. After working at the Norrköping–Linköping City Theatre, she moved to Stockholm in 1978, where her role in the musical adaptation of Smiles of a Summer Night marked her breakthrough. Kallenbäck is known for portraying strong, often sharp-edged or neurotic female characters. She received the Swedish theatre award Guldmasken in 1990 for her performance as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. On television, she appeared in series such as Storstad (1990–1991), Tre Kronor (1996–1997), and the comedy Låt stå! (2002). She was married to actor Stig Olin and also served as ghostwriter for his memoir Trådrullen.
