He first entered the film industry as an extra in 1961. After that he participated in several productions as a supporting actor. In addition to film, he was active in the stage world as a director, having led API (Arena pentas Indonesia) and Teater Ular. He was also the head of the supervisory board of DPM Pelabuhan Ratu (1961-1962), served as head of RRI Sukabumi (1966-1968), became the stage manager of Jakarta Fair (1970-1972), became the assistant stage manager of TIM (1972-1973).
